Hi. thank you so much for replying. I ran a full stack trace on the errors...using ojdbc14 is a ittle more explicit but all three jars throw virtually the same thing...

ojdbc5.jar and ojdbc6.jar...

this line is at the top, with the rest of the trace virtually the same...

at oracle.gss.util.NLSLocale.getNLSLanguage(NLSLocale.java.675)...etc...

It appears to be something with authentication and/or "locale". I've goggled all over and I can't find any answers, just some cases where people ran into the same thing...

It's weird because the connection to legacy SQL Server is ok, that authenticates with the jtds driver, etc.
